Kisaichi Maruyama burial mound is a large tumulus with a total length of 81 m and height of 10 m, which is the largest in Kyoto.
From the wooden casket found in the center of the mound, burial items such as short armor, pots, swords, iron swords, iron pickles, agricultural tools, mirrors, and balls were excavated.
The tumulus was designated as a National Historic Site in March 1994, and the excavated items were designated as a prefectural designated cultural property in March 2004.
Nowadays, it has been developed as a park and is not only a place for citizens to relax, but it is also visited by many tourists from outside the city.
